Tribute to Harry Potter

I have loved the Harry Potter series since I read The Sorcerer's Stone in 6th grade. My Mum told me about the book so I decided to give a read. Now I have read the whole series, seen all the movies multiple times, and have finally created this project...my very first wand! It's made of Box Elder and is approximately one foot long. Enjoy!

March's Turnings

Here are some turnings from March 2011. This was the first month I have had frequent access to a lathe to turn (thank you to Lauren, the Wood Turning Master!).

All these bowls and relatively small. Imagine them holding paper clips, thumb tacks and a little loose change and that is the size. Enjoy!

First Wood Turning

Here is my very first wood turning project. The title of this piece is "A Candy Dish toLimit my SugarIntake". The dish is approximately 7" in diameter and about 1" in total depth, the lip of the dish being 1/2". The dish is made of wood from a Pine tree and finished with a utility finish manufactured and sold by Mike Mahoney--a very wellknown professional wood turner. Enjoy!
